Coin metal beads from Africa, typically from Ethiopia or Nigeria, are made of a mixture of metals, shaped into discs, and were often used as currency. Metals used to make coin metal beads include brass, silver, gold, nickel, zinc and copper. Sometimes melted down coins were used to make coin beads often with a mixture of brass and silver.
